We urge our British readers to use the 5 May 2005 general election to deliver a resounding humiliation to Blair and to break the back of the Labour Party before it wrecks any more lives. A vote for Labour is a vote for war - war against Syria, war against Iran, war against whoever else the American neo-conservatives and their Zionist allies decide to slaughter next. Two years ago, in March 2003, Tony Blair dragged his country into war against the people of Iraq. Although he never quite managed to persuade the British people of his justification for joining the US aggression, he did succeed in getting the endorsement of his Cabinet and Parliament to go to war. He did so by lying about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. Just two months after the aggression, in May 2003, Blair faced the first real test of public opinion in the country since the aggression, when local council elections were held in many parts of the United Kingdom. The British people delivered its verdict: Blair's Labour Party lost more than 800 council seats. At the time, we hoped that Labour Party members would understand the clear message given to them by the millions of voters who decided to cast their ballots against Labour, and the countless others who withheld their vote altogether. We hoped that Labour Party members would wake up and realize that, if they were to continue in power, they would have to get rid of Blair the electoral liability. We hoped that, at least their sense of realpolitik, their basic desire for political survival, would drive them to ditch Blair. But we were wrong. Two years after the aggression, and 100,000 dead Iraqis later, Blair is still the leader of the Labour Party. For Tony Blair and his Labour cronies, Iraq has become a non-issue. The fact that Blair has aided and abetted George Bush in committing one of the worst acts of aggression and violations of international law since World War II does not really matter. Nor does it matter that up to 100,000 Iraqis have been needlessly killed, let alone the torture of Iraqi prisoners and the looting and pillaging of Iraqi hospitals, museums and other national assets that took place under the noses of British and American troops who did nothing to stop it. And, of course, it does not matter at all that no weapons of mass destruction have been found. What does this tell us about Tony Blair and his Labour Party cronies? It tells us that they are reckless liars and charlatans who despise both their party and the entire electorate, up to 2 million of whom attended the great anti-war demonstration of 15 February 2003. And for what? This aggression was never about British national interests, weapons of mass destruction or human rights in Iraq. It was quite simply about cheap oil for the United States and about maintaining Israel's overwhelming military superiority in the Middle East. With Iraq conquered, it would be obliged to sell super-cheap oil to the United States, and it would cease to constitute the remotest threat to Israel's supremacy in the region. And, of course, it would provide lucrative contracts for American companies. Nor was this aggression ever about forcing Iraq to abide by United Nations resolutions. Yes, Iraq was in breach of 17 Security Council resolutions, but the state of Israel - the only nuclear power in the Middle East - is in breach of 68 Security Council resolutions. But who is talking of war against Israel? And yes, Iraq's human rights record is abominable, but so is Israel's. According to the UN High Commission on Human Rights, Israel is guilty of "grave and massive violations of the human rights of the Palestinian people" and of "widespread, systematic and gross violations of human rights", including "mass killings and collective punishments, such as demolition of houses and closure of the Palestinian territories, measures which constitute war crimes and flagrant violations of international humanitarian law and crimes against humanity". But it is the Iraqi people, not the racist state of Israel, who have had to face the full might of the Bush-Blair war machines, despite the opposition of the overwhelming majority of the people of the world. We urge our British readers not to forget Blair's central role in the aggression and destruction of Iraq. Though a junior partner of George Bush, Blair's role has been to provide a fig-leaf of "legitimacy" for the US aggression, so that Bush can claim to be leading a "coalition of the willing". As such, Blair had enormous bargaining power vis-a-vis Bush, which he could have wielded at least one year before the war in favour of a peaceful solution. But he did not. The war may be over, but the web of lies and deceit continues. Blair dragged Britain behind the US in a criminal aggression under the pretext of the need to destroy Iraq's alleged weapons of mass destruction. But no such weapons have been found. Not one illegal warhead. Not one drum of chemicals. Not one incriminating document. Not one shred of evidence that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction in more than two years of war and occupation. The conclusion is obvious: Blair and his cronies lied to the British people about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. And they will lie again when the neo-conservative-Zionist alliance in the United States decides that it is Syria's or Iran's turn to fall victim to their aggression. In the May 2003 local elections the British electorate gave the Labour Party a clear choice between the privilege to govern the country on the one hand and Blair and his warmongers on the other. Two years later, the Labour Party had made a clear choice to stick with Blair. Alas, the time has come for the British people to make its own choice. We urge our British readers to vote for Respect - the Unity Coalition or the Liberal Democratic Party wherever either of these parties pose the most serious challenge to Labour or the Conservatives. In areas where the most serious challengers to Labour are the Conservative Party or the racist British National Party, vote for the Green Party or for a decent independent candidate, even if that candidate has little chance of winning. Failing that, spoil your ballot. Write on your ballot paper "I will not vote for warmongers". Although it might be tempting for some people to vote Conservative in order to punish Blair's Labour Party, we urge you to resist that temptation. Do not forget that the Conservatives have been Blair's staunchest allies in the aggression against the people of Iraq. Without their support in parliament, Britain would have played no part in the aggression and Blair and his gang of charlatans would have had to resign. Therefore, punish the Conservatives as hard as you punish Blair, for the sake of justice, world order and the dignity of your own country, which has been transformed into a vassal of the United States. To our friends in the British Labour Party, especially those who belong to the Labour Against the War Coalition, we say it is time to leave a rotten ship that is clearly beyond redemption.
